The Beast, Fort McMurray Fire, realistic painting, water bomber, forest fire,
Poster, Red Cross, Donation, Fort McMurray support

In the spring of 2016 I was caught in the middle of the Fort McMurray wildfire, witnessing first hand the devastating effect of the power of nature. After living through this nightmare, I was moved to do my part in helping the community I had worked in for so many years by creating a painting and having it auctioned off. Proceeds were donated to the Fort McMurray wildfire fund with the Canadian Red Cross.

The Saga of the Miss Ally

A painting of the ill fated journey of the Miss Ally, a fishing trawler that never made it back home to Woods Bay Nova Scotia

At the time of the sinking of this ship, one of the part time fishermen happened to be at work up in Fort McMurray. As this fellow was on my crew and I heard the story, I was moved to do my part and help out the widows and children affected by this tragedy.

It was created and sent off to Woods Bay, Nova Scotia to be auctioned off with the proceeds going to the affected survivors.

A while later I was contacted by a publishing company representing the author who wrote a book of this tragedy asking to use my painting for the books cover. I was informed that a percentage of book sales went to the survivors so donated the copyrights of this as well.

Book cover, Miss Ally, tragedy

Excellent reading as narrated by a number of friends, employees and family stating their beliefs, common knowledge and opinions as to what led this tragedy in motion and what events unfolded leading up to it's eventful demise.

Karley Kennys Ride to Safety

Painting, Karley Kenny, Fort McMurray fire, painting, donation,

A painting created and donated to the Fort McMurray Equestrian Club to help raise funds to rebuild their buildings and barns. It depicts this particular young lady leading some horses out of danger as the wildfire threatens the club barns and all the livestock therein. It should be noted several other ladies were seen fleeing the fire on their horses as well as they rode to safety through the chaos in the city.
